Students at the Rafael Hernandez School will once again have access to Theater and Visual Arts.  Through this project, students will create monologues and visual arts work that will be presented to the school community.

Contact: Tackling Insecurities through Movement
This workshop series will help promote healthy self-image and body awareness through experiences in contact improvisation at the Boston Arts Academy Saturday Dance Program.

Beantown Krump House
This program will provide workshops in “Krumping” and “Buck Music” to help youth at the Cacique Youth Learning Center express their anger, stress and violence in an engaging art form.

Que Viva La Rumba
Through lessons in folkloric vocals and instrumental Rumba, students at the Hyde Park YMCA will celebrate personal experiences through traditional music.

Jamie Maletz & Colleen Quinn
Acting Out
Students at the Charlestown Boys & Girls Club will create a mini-musical, based on themes from their lives, and perform it for their community.

Breaking the Mold through Sound
This project will provide students at the Egelston Square YMCA the opportunity to name and confront stereotypes through journal writing and song creation.

Deliverance
This project will allow girls in the Jubilee Christian Church Youth Group to release stress and express their thoughts through testimonial dance.

Caroline Shaw-Moss
A Song Can Say a Thousand Words
This project will expose students at the Timilty School to a wide range of music with positive messages.  After analyzing the music, students will write and record original songs.
