Carlos I. Gutierrez
World Languages Faculty
Carlos Gutierrez believes that country borders are only to keep humanity divided and that they are a threat to the intent of common understanding. His goal for students is that they see the Spanish language as a tool for communication and as an opportunity to expand their horizons to become active members in the World community.
He came to the Boston area in 1999 from Grand Forks, ND where he began his teaching career in 1995 at Central High School. Mr. Gutierrez spent two years as a middle school teacher and three years teaching Spanish at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School before coming to BAA in the fall of 2005. He holds a B.A. in Spanish and his M.Ed. from the University of North Dakota.
He combines his strong interests in writing and photography with his love for teaching and traveling. He enjoys the outdoors and being with his family and his dog, Churro.
