This innovative school library offers an exceptional collection to the diverse student and faculty populations as well as to the many Massachusetts educators who take advantage of the programs offered by the Boston Symphony Orchestra Education Resource Center (BSOERC).   The BAA/Fenway Library collection enhances the rigorous curriculums, provides in-depth materials for students extracurricular interests, and offers resources in the fine arts including books, periodicals, recordings, DVDs, art prints, posters, more than 500 classical music CDs from the Tanglewood Music Center and 5000 slides donated by the Museum of Fine Arts. The goal of the school library program is for all students to become critical users of information and to foster independent, lifelong learning.

To expand their work with teachers throughout the Commonwealth, the Boston Symphony Orchestra has established an Education Resource Center that is housed in the Harcourt General Library. The BSO has provided funding to build the extensive collection of fine arts resources, including books, music CDs, videos, CD ROMs, computers and audiovisual equipment. The BSO generously allows all of the materials in its Education Resource Center to be used and borrowed by our faculty and students, as well as educators from across the state who visit the center.
The Boston Symphony Orchestra’s education department has developed a series of highly regarded programs that supplement and reinforce music education initiatives in the public schools of metropolitan Boston and beyond, addressing a need for high-quality arts exposure and music education in the public schools.
