Emilio C. Gonzalez
BSO Curriculum Coordinator
A former music teacher and a professional musician, Mr. Gonzalez received his B.M. and M..M. degrees from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. While pursuing an M.F.A. in Historical Musicology at Brandeis University, he became actively involved in classroom education and syllabus development. Mr. Gonzalez has taught extensively at Brandeis and at the Walnut Hill School, where he assisted in the creation of a year-long curriculum in music theory and music history. As a native Spanish speaker and an experienced dance accompanist, he specializes particularly in the integration of world languages and the performing arts into daily lesson plans. In addition to his work at the BAA’s Education Resource Center as Curriculum Coordinator for the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Mr. Gonzalez continues his vocation
as a dance musician, accompanying a range of ballet and modern classes in the Greater Boston area. He is currently completing his dissertation in pursuit of the Ph.D in Historical Musicology at Brandeis University.
