Bill McLaughlin
Dance Department
Mr. McLaughlin received his BA from Cambridge College. As a professional dancer he has performed with Impulse Dance Company, Concert Dance Company of Boston, Prometheus Dance Theater, Marcus Schulkind and Friends, Granite State Ballet, and Boston Dance Collective. During his time with these companies he performed works choreographed by such choreographers as Fred Benjamin, Donald Byrd, Bebe Miller, Mark Morris, Dwight Rhoden, and Randy Warshaw to name a few. In addition to Boston Arts Academy, he is currently on the faculty of The Boston Conservatory, The Jeanette Neil Dance Studio, and The Walnut Hill School for the Performing Arts. Mr. McLaughlin served as both Co-director and Artistic Director of Boston Dance Collective’s Summer Outreach Program: a four to six week intergenerational dance company that provides both jobs and arts
experiences for urban youth.
While at BAA, Mr. McLaughlin has collaborated on student discussion workshops including Male Stereotypes in Dance: a workshop discussion confronting the different stereotypes of male dancers. As a choreographer, Mr. McLaughlin has produced his own work including a solo performance, Boogie Man. He has served as a guest choreographer at Wheaton College and Wellesley College. While at BAA his choreography has been chosen for the National High School Dance Festival’s gala performance.
